Homemade Barbecue Sauce



  1. Put oil and onion in a sauce pan and cook over medium heat 3-5 minutes, or until onion is cooked through.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. - Reserve 1 cup sauce in bowl for serving.
  3. Baste remaining sauce over chicken, fish or ribs and light the grill. Grill meat over medium-high heat, basting a few times throughout cooking. Cook until meat is no longer pink and cooked through, turning as needed. Time will vary depending on cut of meat used.
  4. Serve with reserved sauce.
